Hills and valleys

...not sure why it says it is 3.30 on that previous post...it's actually just after 11.30pm on the 17th December 2009...

I've been thinking...about words...being vehicles...let's say, every word is like a vehicle on the road, transporting thoughts, perceptions, emotions, etc from one person to another or to many others...

think of the little words...'at', 'the' 'to' 'it' etc...they do the same thing that mini coopers do...they rush around town all over the place flitting here and there, parking easily between two larger vehicles and closing the gaps...nippy little 'about town' words...keeping the flow going...

then there are the ones that do all the leg work, y'know the not very ellaborate but does the job kind of words...like....'work', 'read', 'hear', 'lunchbreak', 'driving', and so on...they're the 'calls a spade a spade kind of words...bit like the Corsas and Peugots of the roads...fuelled with diesel of course...

...then...the scenic words...'beauty', 'gentle', 'airy', 'elegance'....the meganes if you like that sort of shape...or the Audi perhaps....

so, what about the Jags and BMWs and mercs of our language...well strong descriptive words...'majestic', 'grand', 'influential', 'trustworthy', 'profound'.....

...and well there are many more tuypes but I wonder...what of artic lorries....what sort of words would they be?

would they be laden with emotion such as 'misery', 'intensity', or heavy with ideas and concepts such as 'philosophical' and theological' or slow and lumbering words with a hint of threat such as 'rumbling' and 'undercurrents' ...

For me, every word is visual, and has shape and colour and has a thousand links and connections to other aspects of life...more of this later...
